May was a month filled with fun events and festivities across the United States. From commemorating military heroes to celebrating spring, here were six popular events that took place – and that you can plan to attend next year.

Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is a famous horse race that takes place on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Known as the “most exciting two minutes in sports,” the race attracts thousands of spectators who come to see the horses, jockeys, and the iconic “Run for the Roses” ceremony. Indianapolis 500

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a nine-day event that takes place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in early May. The festival features hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes, as well as food, music, and entertainment.

National Memorial Day Concert

The National Memorial Day Concert is an annual event held on the Sunday before Memorial Day in Washington, D.C. Memphis in May
